February is when the trees are sleeping. In the Indigenous American tradition, the February moon is called Snow Moon or Bear Moon. This piece is named in homage to that tradition.
Moon when the Trees are Sleeping was created using collage techniques. The collage papers were printed on a gel plate with acrylic paint in greens, blues, and browns. Gel plate prints add texture and depth to a work which is why I enjoy using it. The moon itself is painted using acrylics. The work is enhanced with acrylic paint pen marks.
The piece comes in a clear plastic sealed sleeve and is matted to fit an 12" x 16" frame. Frame NOT included.
This piece is 8.5" x 11" without the matt.
This piece is signed on the front.
